A finished painting

I finished this painting sometime last night sometime before Nathan came home. I kept staring at the empty white face long enough. It was taunting me to dare to finish it, waiting to look over that wall. What is over that wall? I'm not sure, my own troubles and fears? Perhaps there is hope on the other side. The dead vines that sprawl up the wall have seemed to have attempted to get a pick but have failed. However this creature with a fresh face see's with curiosity. There also seems to be some concern but never fear something new might not be so bad.

The Art Institute of Tennessee keep calling me. I haven't answered it since Nathan and I were sitting at Discount Tire in Abilene. I'm kind of busy right now, getting a tire put on. Can we talk later?

I received a broacher the other day. Woulda. Coulda, Shoulda. You have the rough idea. We'll help you put it all together.

How? School seems so far away right now. What grants can I get or scholarships? It all seems grim.

Maybe I could talk with someone. Perhaps go to school there but it's so far away. Nashville is 30 miles from my home. Grr.

April passes, mid in May, fun in June

On the green way we took a path unknown

My luck changed when I found you

A bed of comfy clovers

A drink to an adventurous day

These are back in April when I was so consumed with school and had hardly anytime to explore. School was so overwhelming and I just learned I did not pass a certain class. I figured as much but that's ok, I'll take it online during summer and bump up that grade. It's been a sore spot for some time but I will not stress over it. Take what may.

Also, sun tea is very delicious, I took a mason jar, fill is with water, two tea bags, and let it sit in the sun for 3 hours. Then I added sugar to my liking. It's worth waiting for on those nice spring evenings.

making the best of the little things

Life. Such a gentle name for a short time of existing on this small world. We pick and choose how to live it, each choice always has a pathway to go down. Twisting and turning with every decision we make.
Today my mother took me to have my tags renewed because I simply have no money at this moment. Money comes and goes. I took her to Backyard Burger on Memorial as a thank you for helping me out. We then bought two waffle cones and sat in the booth for an hour and a half talking about where we lived and how it was an adventure. across the street beyond the tall fence is an apartment complex that used to scare us to step outside at night. Rethinking those past times brought a smile to my face. We moved there because it was cheaper than living in a Hotel 6 for a week.
This school semester is almost over with. I'm so thankful, I've worked so hard to push myself to get threw and I'm almost there. May will welcome me with her loving arm's and bring something new and unknown. How exciting. I'm waiting patiently for June because not only does it hold my birthday but a chance to enjoy a vacation with my man. My mother is kind enough to let us borrow her car since mine would sadly die on the way to our destination. We are bound west, a place I have only ventured to once and looking forward to it again!
I had mentioned to my sister that I think we should start going to a baseball field and play softball. It's been years since I've last tested my skill to hitting a ball and I would love to see if I still got game. Hopefully we will be able to do that and have a blast. That would be a great way to start our summer break.

lazy ass

This is my background on my lap top to remind myself that I will "Never Again" be such a lazy ass on my days off from school and work. To make the days I'm free full of studying, cleaning, and then use the spare time for fun. Fun? Whats fun? I'm trying to be serious about school and to make up for the terms I have missed. It's quite big but I think I can make it.

I have Rory to thank for. Her willful ways kind of motivated me to be hardcore about not falling behind again. The breaks were great while they lasted but it's time to start getting my gears moving again. I am so tired of school but I must make the best of it. My dream of working for a news paper is back on track. A photojournalist that is.

jem- 24

my senior year of high school i was excited about the movie ultra violet, because of this song. i would sit in my web design class& replay this song in my headphones over& over again. when the movie came out into theater's i went with two friend's& from the get go i was so pissed during the whole film. i will never get those few hours back but i still have that song.

it was, however, better than bloodrayne. bloodrayne was the worst movie i have ever seen& the grossest sex scene recorded on film. the whole time i sat there these four guys behind me kept making groaning noises& sexual remarks. go figure.

i finished all season's of gilmore girls& i kind of teared up a little bit, not because me late night's of laying on my bed& watching it was over, it's because rory gets asked a question& lor sparks flames with luke again. end scene. damn!

nathan has found an apartment& shall be moving into in a month. i asked if i could decor his pad& he said maybe but maybes are always a yes to me. always always always. i'm painting two paintings& they'll both go into his apartment. i have a HUGE red rectangle propped up against my tv stand waiting to be filled. i need paint!

i have bad news, news that made me go weak& purchase 25.00 dollar's worth of beer's. i didn't get drunk but i did get toasty with madre. all i can say is lime's baby, lime's. anyway, my bad news-- i was denied my pell grant& my appeal for the pell grant. i was also denied a loan& my mom was going to do collateral on her car but couldn't afford it.

at 11:30am mom will be having knee surgery& i'll have to spend a few week's helping her move her leg so she want get any blood clots, so, i think i needed a school break.

simple enough

when i was little, about 3-5, i used to have the hardest time swallowing my own saliva. some times i would have to just spit it out in a napkin or in my pillow if i was to scared to get out of my bed. i remember i even forgot how to the breath. i also used to get tongue tied a lot& would have a really hard time completing my sentences or even starting my sentences. i would studder if i become nervous& would get aggravated& studder even more if i couldn't say what i wanted to say. it's like my brain would get stuck in mud. this would happen when people couldn't hear or was not listening.

i've been doing this every now& it has been getting on my last nerve. when i'm at work& someone ask me if this will turn their hair white e.i. bleach kit i'll try explaining to him/her that you should really start on the tips of your hair& work your way up. he/she gave me a look like i was an idiot. i wanted to tell he/her, "look, my mother has been a cosmetologist for the past 40+ some odd years, so i know what i'm talking about. i've also used bleach kit's in the past, 3 times." i told her instead "the top of your head is constantly heated& bleach is heat sensitive. if you start there first it'll be white& then your tips will be sun burst. if you dye your hair a curtain color it want look right. besides bleaching your hair isn't healthily for you anyway to begin with& damages/kills it."

this is bleach?

she thought it was white hair color, the kit said it in bright red big bold letter's on the front... how STUPID could you be?

her boyfriend looked at me& laughed. i felt so pissed off by then& extremely belittled. this woman was a moron& made me studder in aggravation. before this woman, a mother& daughter came to my register to buy rock band t-shirts. it's buy on get the 2nd half off so i rang it up& gave the discount.

"that'll be 30.81 ma'am."

excuse me? is that with the discount? did you even put the discount?

"
well, one was 20 the other was 15 ma'am."

why couldn't you have done the most expensive. by this time the daughter rolled her eyes& walked away. i knew how that felt when a parent used to act all bigger than the person behind the counter& i swore i'd never do that. i haven't yet either.

"no, ma'am. i'm told to do the lesser one." she then told me to get a gift card (twilight of course)& put 50 on it. i thought she said 50.45 because she had an accent.

50... 5-oh. i hate the fact that i or anyone else is treated differently behind a counter. i have been in retail for 5yrs& i'm still treated like nothing. sometimes. i didn't say anything besides have a good night.

anyway... it's been a stressful week& it's about to get even more stressful. i have to work 35.5 hours next week& will only have christmas day off. i don't mind because as i told one of my co-workers, i'll be "BIG BALLIN'!" i added it all up& i'll be getting a nice check. of course the gov will get a nice chunk. i told myself that when i turn in my taxes& get my check if it's around 300 i'm going to bonaroo.

for now, i'll be stuttering, pausing& making an idiot out of my self to customers& teachers. which btw, i'm going back to motlow because i couldn't pull a grand out of my ass for school at MTSU. i'm too scared to borrow money since we're in a recession.

p.s. i locked myself out of my car tonight.... that sucked.

cold feet, warm heart

i woke up today at 2:10 p.m. in disbelief i got up, fixed some fish sticks& took a shower. i'm now still sitting in my towel thinking of things i need to do in a hour before i go to nathans to do a power point due tonight. i still have to finish my art project for my drawing class.

how could i have slept that long? it's like i was in a coma...
