so the tides roll
I love watching low humidity clouds fly across the sky while dark storm clouds loom ahead. The temperature drops and it feels so good to be outside. Standing there waiting for the rain to arrive and touch my skin as the wind blows threw my hair. I close my eyes and feel relaxed. Looking to the right I see the rain pouring down and steadily making it's way toward me. As it pours I feel the troubles wash away. Invisible arms wrap around me and the assurance that everything will be okay. Then the door opened, my creativity flew in. I painted all day today, my mind racing with how to spread the paint. It's exciting to feel the urge to hold paint brushes in my hand and transfer what I'm seeing in my mind onto scrap wood. Amazing.

Random Thought
This is a painting I finished up sometime last year. It started in 2009 when I was trying to figure out what I had to become. Trying to found new ground and land right. However I'm still trying to find balance. This painting has too many meanings to name out but it is about me. The blue feet, I think anyone could guess, is cold feet. The paper is coals that are on fire. Those two symbols equal being uneasy with life. I have this painting by the front door to remind me to try and land on two feet while walking out to the world. The world is a cruel and a loving place.

New Camera

The Polaroid 420 was found at Goodwill for $10.00 and while I was putting my fingers all over it a bearded man was telling that the film is very hard to find and so is the battery. I knew he was telling me this because he too wanted it. I had no idea how it worked but I had to have it for my growing collection of vintage cameras. This is a hobbie I had started when I worked at Batey's Photography (No longer in business sadly).

a flame

Donna is a creative abstract painter and along with her collages she speaks in various ways. i think i have found a person that best describes how i love to paint. i just randomly found her on google search by typing in abstract painting and this piece above my text come out to me.
she is inspired by books and poetry-- i am inspired by books and music but never the less kind of the same. like myself she is self taught, no one to help her paint, all on her own. i think that's the best way to figure out what your style is when painting, let the brush move you in a sense.
this lady is pretty awesome and she is worth checking out. her name is the link.
