Lemon Drops

"The stars at night are big and bright
Deep in the heart of Texas
The prairie sky is wide and high
Deep in the heart of Texas
The sage in bloom is like perfume
Deep in the heart of Texas
Reminds me of the one that I love
Deep in the heart of Texas"

I really enjoyed visiting Abilene and Dallas. They are full of character and I just wanted to walk all over both with my camera. When we left Abilene we headed back to Dallas and explored a little bit. We toured the 6th Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza and gazed at the grassy knoll. Elm Street is marked with two X's on the road to mark where the Motorcade was under fire, it gives you this kind of chill when you look at them. Many conspiracy theories are brought up when you walk down that street.

After the museum and the wonderful experience I gained, we headed out. I have many car photography pictures when we entered and excited Dallas. This great city has me wanting to live there so bad.

Twice As nice

Texas steak is better than Tennessee steak, unless you grill it at home. Joe Allen's has some of the best and man, I was in heaven for a brief moment in time. I hope to go back and eat more steak some day from Abilene.

Abilene reminds something straight from the 1950s or Norman Rockwell painting. Which, I am a Rockwell fan. Everything opens early and closes about 2PM, the downtown area at least. As told by someone, it's better to visit than live here. Well, I'm rather tired from our long trip from Abilene to Texarkana. Maps do not do the great state of Texas justice. I'm used to maps from home that it doesn't really seem so far. More in a few days.

On the Road Update

Good Morning! I am in Rockwall, Texas, until the tires are balanced. Nathan is out finding a place that can help my moms poor car. We were 97 miles from Dallas when we hit some rough weather and the car started to feel different. Then we heard this strange noise that we though was from a tractor trailer. It turned out it wasn't and when we pulled over, the tire on the back right side was flat! Ack! So, we got the spare tire out, but could find the size tire iron. Turns out my mom has a "key" for her tire and if that key was not in there, well, we would be kind of lost. In short a State Trooper called a tow man and this nice gentle man came out changed our tire and only charged $20 dollars. He also had to call another man to get a four-way because the tire iron in my mom's care was the wrong size. Crazy. I did not take pictures of the flat but I did when we got a few miles to another town so we could go to Autozone.

This is the patch Nathan put on the tire. By the way, they work! So does the little thing that looks like a radio. It fills the tire with air in 8 1/2 mins!

He looks so hot working on a car. :)

However, when we got back on the interstate the car was wobbling, more like vibrating. More later, gotta get things together and check out.

I never question what to do, it tells me what to do. The photographs make themselves with my help. ~Ruth Bernhard
