On another note. I made my first and not the last meat loaf! It was so good and I was very surprised that it was sooo good. I have this app. on my phone that allows me to read different newspapers from across the country and one just happens to be from Chicago. I had been thinking about attempting to make meat loaf and one day the recipe popped up.

alive. well. ashamed.
So, I'm back on track && I'm about to make JoZoara my office like so many other people who need wi-fi. I'm embarrassed and I who the winner of my first giveaway an apology. Everything fell apart when my laptop broke. Along with that the weather has kept me indoors most of the time. Tennessee weather is the worst. I always feel like I've gained extra pounds once the humid touches my skin.
Maybe blogging really isn't for me. I'm lazy, I procrastinate too much. Sometimes I think it would be fun to talk about clothing, art, and creative things I do. Then when I loss touch with the interwebz and go to work or visit friends I realize I never have time for this kind of thing. Then again there is this pull that has a hold on me. So, here I sit, on my balcony of the third floor apartment wondering "Can I really keep this up? Is there a point?" I think I'm just to scatter brained now to even keep up with myself. Meaning I over crowd my brain with to many things to do.
Of course I am proud of myself, I have stayed off the computer for just about a month. Detaching myself, not on purpose, from online. No withdraws what so ever.
Here's a video.

Alas! Last Week Sucked.
Yes, last week was dreadful. Why? Well, my dear lap top fell off my bed after I got up to make a pot of coffee. Of course having it on the bed was not a wise choice but I always have there, best place for wi-fi.
Anyway, it might be sometime before I start posting videos, pictures, and etc. I'm kind of bummed about it. I hope my warranty covers it, will it? Le sigh...

A finished painting
I finished this painting sometime last night sometime before Nathan came home. I kept staring at the empty white face long enough. It was taunting me to dare to finish it, waiting to look over that wall. What is over that wall? I'm not sure, my own troubles and fears? Perhaps there is hope on the other side. The dead vines that sprawl up the wall have seemed to have attempted to get a pick but have failed. However this creature with a fresh face see's with curiosity. There also seems to be some concern but never fear something new might not be so bad.
The Art Institute of Tennessee keep calling me. I haven't answered it since Nathan and I were sitting at Discount Tire in Abilene. I'm kind of busy right now, getting a tire put on. Can we talk later?
I received a broacher the other day. Woulda. Coulda, Shoulda. You have the rough idea. We'll help you put it all together.
How? School seems so far away right now. What grants can I get or scholarships? It all seems grim.
Maybe I could talk with someone. Perhaps go to school there but it's so far away. Nashville is 30 miles from my home. Grr.

Satuday Special: Johnny Cash - Rusty Cage & Hurt
I love the song Rusty Cage by Soundgarden and I feel like Johnny Cash owns it now when he did a cover of it. I love Cash period and when he did Nine Inch Nails Hurt I didn't know what to think. I never really liked the song really and when he covered it, it blew my mind hole. I think up until today I started to like it. I'm that way with a song I don't like by a band I love. I will hate a song for a few years and then love it. I think I prefer Johnny Cashes version better. However I'm a NIN fan forever, I'm happy to say, that it's now a Johnny Cash song.

running down the meadow
I have come to the conclusion that my curiosity is killing me and I have started to read Twilight. It does not help that I work in a retail store that sells the merchandise and that I hear about how different the books are from the movies. So, I'm half way threw the book and after watching the first film I can see a big difference. I'm such a prude.
--edit--
sorry for the bad grammar i was in a hurry. i edited the miss printed first sentence.

so the tides roll
I love watching low humidity clouds fly across the sky while dark storm clouds loom ahead. The temperature drops and it feels so good to be outside. Standing there waiting for the rain to arrive and touch my skin as the wind blows threw my hair. I close my eyes and feel relaxed. Looking to the right I see the rain pouring down and steadily making it's way toward me. As it pours I feel the troubles wash away. Invisible arms wrap around me and the assurance that everything will be okay. Then the door opened, my creativity flew in. I painted all day today, my mind racing with how to spread the paint. It's exciting to feel the urge to hold paint brushes in my hand and transfer what I'm seeing in my mind onto scrap wood. Amazing.

Lemon Drops
Deep in the heart of Texas
The prairie sky is wide and high
Deep in the heart of Texas
The sage in bloom is like perfume
Deep in the heart of Texas
Reminds me of the one that I love
Deep in the heart of Texas"
Unedited Texas pictures
I really enjoyed visiting Abilene and Dallas. They are full of character and I just wanted to walk all over both with my camera. When we left Abilene we headed back to Dallas and explored a little bit. We toured the 6th Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza and gazed at the grassy knoll. Elm Street is marked with two X's on the road to mark where the Motorcade was under fire, it gives you this kind of chill when you look at them. Many conspiracy theories are brought up when you walk down that street.

On the Road Update
Good Morning! I am in Rockwall, Texas, until the tires are balanced. Nathan is out finding a place that can help my moms poor car. We were 97 miles from Dallas when we hit some rough weather and the car started to feel different. Then we heard this strange noise that we though was from a tractor trailer. It turned out it wasn't and when we pulled over, the tire on the back right side was flat! Ack! So, we got the spare tire out, but could find the size tire iron. Turns out my mom has a "key" for her tire and if that key was not in there, well, we would be kind of lost. In short a State Trooper called a tow man and this nice gentle man came out changed our tire and only charged $20 dollars. He also had to call another man to get a four-way because the tire iron in my mom's care was the wrong size. Crazy. I did not take pictures of the flat but I did when we got a few miles to another town so we could go to Autozone.

Things I'm taking...
besides clothes, shoes, lap top, and camera.
-Sketch pad
-Journal
- Zen for Christians: a beginner's guide by Kim Boykin
-Natural Witchery: Intuitive, Personal & Pratical Magick by Ellen Dugan ( I'm open minded, no need to judge)
- The Secert Language of Dreams: A Visual Key to Dreams and Their Meanings by David Fontana
- Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger
- Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger
- Literature and Society by Pamela J. Annas and Robert C. Rosen
- Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs by Scott Cunningham
Of course I may have to trim these all down. I just like having choices. Just like my very large suit case filled with clothing. I will not make the silly mistake of not being without my suit case with wheels.
I do need suggestions to a few books. I'm even, sigh, open to the Twilight Saga. I can't believe I said that and I work a store that sells the merch. I should know a little more about it so that I can relate to the customers. That and I'm curious. I just feel that the books have been made into this crazy marketing tool. Has anyone ever watch Josie and the Pussy Cat Dolls from 2001? Were music become this crazy way of having people go with the latest trends? That's how I see it with this Justin Bieber fellow also. It almost makes me sick, well it does make me sick. I hear these crazy stories from parents who say that girls aren't allowed to speak his name in schools. Coo-coo.

Random Thought
This is a painting I finished up sometime last year. It started in 2009 when I was trying to figure out what I had to become. Trying to found new ground and land right. However I'm still trying to find balance. This painting has too many meanings to name out but it is about me. The blue feet, I think anyone could guess, is cold feet. The paper is coals that are on fire. Those two symbols equal being uneasy with life. I have this painting by the front door to remind me to try and land on two feet while walking out to the world. The world is a cruel and a loving place.

Muse me
Art Journal Technique | Woodcut Mimic from The One Minute Muse on Vimeo.
I thought instead of a music video today I would post The One Minute Muse. This is something I used to do with ESP kids when I worked with them. I also taught these to children when I wanted to be an art teacher. It's fun and magical!

Texas Bound
It has been settled! We chill on my birthday and leave the day after, early. After talking about it, leaving on the 9th seemed like a pretty cool idea, however I would have to sleep for most of my birthday! So I figured we can sleep and be well rested for the next day and leave bright and earlier. I think before the sun comes up. Leave west for Texas. Sadly we have to go threw Arkansas. I wonder if I-30 going into Little Rock is still under construction? Hmm.
I counted the change jar and we have saved $33.57! I know there is more change around here and of course there is like 3.97 in pennies. I always need like a few more it seems to round it out. I found a $.2.00 Wal-Mart gift card under the bed, so maybe they could contribute. I'm just so excited!

freedom awaits us
Oh man, oh man. I can not wait for this trip and I can not wait till my birthday. It's just another year to age with grace but birthdays are a milestones to living! I feel people should always be happy that they lived such a crazy/happy/ whatever year. Besides Thanksgiving, birthdays are my favorite.
I thought I would share some things I found while I thrifted my money away.
My mother got me started on Avon bottles a few years back. She has a 98yr old friend who to give me a kitten bottle and ever since that gift I've been hooked. If I can find it I'll do a show and tell. I even found some chess pieces and I'm hoping to complete the set. There were two more at the thrift store but I really didn't want to spend anymore money. I think I'll look back on my bad habits one day to my weakness at thrift stores and laugh at myself. Ones persons give aways are soon to be my treasures and so on.

Happy Birthday Lovely Lady
Marilyn Monroe
Be Kind
Help this weary being
To forget what is sad to remember
Loose my loneliness,
Ease my mind,
While you eat my flesh.
I collected these pictures over a period of time and have forgotten the links. I did however Googled Norma Jean Marilyn Monroe together and came up with these images. The ones with her reading I typed in Marilyn Monroe reading.
She was an amazing woman with a kind gentle spirit. May she rest in peace.
